Vol. 323 No. 5

Written Answers . - Solid Fuel Heating Grant .

326.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a grant application for a solid fuel heating installation will be paid to an applicant (details supplied) in County Dublin; and the reasons for the refusal of a home improvement grant to the applicant.

: My Department are awaiting the submission by the applicant of certain information and documentation with a view to establishing his eligibility for the special grant to reduce dependence on oil.

Regarding the application for a house improvement grant, the final date specified in the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979, for receipt of applications, in respect of works started prior to 1 November 1977, was 31 January 1978. As the works in respect of which he has sought a grant are stated by the applicant to have commenced in August 1976, and the application for a grant was received on 30 January 1980, the application had to be rejected.
