Vol. 323 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions . Oral Answers . - Cork Tax Offices .

37.

asked the Minister for Finance when additional office accommodation will be made available to relieve the serious overcrowding that exists in the two tax offices in Cork.

: At present 7,000 square feet of office accommodation at Elm Court, Boreenmanna Road, Cork, is being fitted out to accommodate taxes staff. It is expected that the premises will be ready for occupation early in November.

In the long term, tenders have been invited for the erection of central Government offices at Sullivan's Quay, Cork. It is intended that all taxes staff in Cork will be housed in the new building.

: Will the Minister guarantee that, contrary to what RTE have done, Irish floor covering will be used?

: I certainly will. The Board of Works always use Irish materials.
