Vol. 323 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions . Oral Answers . - County Donegal Firing Ranges .

5.

asked the Minister for Defence the reason the firing ranges are not open at Finner, Rockhill and Dunree in County Donegal; if he is aware that they have not been in use for over 12 months; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

: Arrangements are being made for the provision of new butts on the rifle range at Finner Camp. For safety reasons the range is being used only to a limited extent pending the provision of the new butts. For the same reasons, the miniature range and the grenade range at the camp are not being used at present and the question of their future use is being examined.

The miniature ranges at Rockhill House and Fort Dunree were used up to June and July of this year respectively. They are, however, in need of repair and the question of their future use is being examined.
