Can the Minister give me some reason why the Department which he governs insist on giving replies that the grant has been paid, two months after the date in question?
I do not think that is the case. I do not know when the Deputy put down this question——
I put it down only recently.

Is the Minister aware and might I explain the reason for the question——

Is the Minister aware, that representations were made to the Department in early September in this case? The other day I had a letter from them as a result of my parliamentary question saying that the grant was paid on 18 December. I think that is the exact date. I am asking the Minister why I have to wait for a positive reply from his Department?
I presume the Department were waiting until the grant was ready to be paid and then we afforded the Deputy the courtesy of a reply.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a farm building grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.
Applicants for grant aid under the farm modernisation scheme are required to notify the local farm development service office when an approved scheme of work has been completed so that a final inspection may be carried out with a view to certification of the work for payment of a grant.
Notification of completion of work has not been received in this case and it is in fact understood that the work has not yet been completed.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a land reclamation grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the work was passed for payment in 1979.
The two grants at issue have been paid.
Payment had to await lodgment of current farm accounts.
