Vol. 324 No. 8

Written Answers. - Child Allowance Payments.

325.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when a decision will be made on the application of a person (details supplied) in County Meath for a child allowance on his pension.

The person concerned recently claimed an increase in his old age contributory pension in respect of his daughter's two children who are residing with him.

The necessary inquiries to establish whether the children can be regarded as his dependants for the purposes of the Social Welfare Acts have been initiated. On completion of these inquiries he will be notified of the decision on his application.

326.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is aware that a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon did not receive her children's allowance since June last; and if he will ensure that payment is made immediately.

A children's allowance order book, payable from October 1980, was issued on 12 November 1980 to the person concerned. A payable order for arrears of children's allowance for the period from July 1980 to September 1980 was issued on 24 November 1980.
