Vol. 325 No. 4

Written Answers. - Howth-Bray Railway Line.

351.

asked the Minister for Finance if, in view of the proposed work on the electrification of the Howth Bray railway line and the closure of the railway line at Dún Laoghaire Station to the pier, resulting in considerable inconvenience for boat passengers, he will arrange to have the necessary facilities provided such as a travelator between St. Michael's Wharf and the railway station or whatever other facilities are deemed most suitable.

Works on the electrification of the Howth-Bray railway line have involved the temporary closure of the spur-line to the Mail Boat Pier, and a temporary substitute bus service has been provided. No decision has so far been made to close the spur-line permanently, but if this were to prove necessary, suitable alternative facilities would be provided for boat passengers.
