Vol. 325 No. 4

Written Answers. - Housing Grants.

431.

asked the Minister for the Environment the total number of house improvement grants in his Department currently awaiting payment; and their total value.

The information sought is not readily available. In view of the number of applications for house improvement grants at various stages of processing, including those out for inspection, the time and cost of extracting the information would be excessive and the resulting hold-up in the normal workings of the housing grants section could not be justified.

432.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection will be carried out with a view to the payment of the housing reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The application was received on 13 February 1980. It was rejected as it had been received after 1 February 1980, the closing date for the receipt of applications.

433.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The applicant has not submitted the full documentation required in connection with an application for a new house grant. When he does so his application will be further considered.

434.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the balance of a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

A payable order for £200, representing the balance of the grant, was sent, in accordance with the applicant's instructions, to his bank on 16 October 1980.

435.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

Grants for reconstruction works and the provision of private water and sewerage facilities will be paid when an inspection confirms that the approved works have been satisfactorily completed. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.
