Vol. 325 No. 5

Written Answers. - Clondalkin (County Dublin) Prison Tender.

357.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason a company (details supplied) in County Westmeath were not granted the tender for the erection of the prison at Clondalkin.

Tenders have not yet been invited for the erection of the new women's prison or the place of detention for juveniles at Wheatfield, Clondalkin. Following the invitation of tenders from a number of contractors known to have the capability to undertake the work in the time required a contract has been placed with a contractor from the Republic of Ireland for the first stage of the project. This comprises site preparation, perimeter and security walling, roads and service area structures.
