Vol. 325 No. 8

Written Answers. - Free Dental Treatment for Children.

143.

asked the Minister for Health if he will consider the provision of free dental treatment as a matter of urgency for children, who leave national school, until they reach the age of 16 years.

I share the Deputy's concern for those under 16 who are not currently entitled to dental treatment and I will be very willing to consider extending our existing dental services to all children in the 1216 year age group as soon as sufficient dentists and resources become available to provide an adequate level of service for existing eligible groups.
