Vol. 326 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Sligo Commonage.

230.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if he is aware that there is a commonage of 331 acres, 1 rood and 12 perches of land at Fartannan, in the Dromore West area of County Sligo, for which proposals have been drawn up for division among the shareholders and that his Department, who have a one-ninth share are not satisfied with the proposals; if he will have an inspector meet all the shareholders who are anxious that this problem be resolved to the satisfaction of everyone concerned; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The proposed partition of this commonage proved unacceptable to the Forest and Wildlife Service of my Department as the plot proposed for the service was of poor quality, unsuitable for development for forestry purposes. An inspector will call as soon as possible on all the shareholders in the commonage in an effort to negotiate a mutually satisfactory arrangement.
