Vol. 326 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drogheda Garda Station.

34.

asked the Minister for Finance the improvements which have been made to the Garda station at Drogheda, County Louth, since the matter was raised.

The Garda have recently moved some of the station staff into the two prefabricated offices provided at this centre. The way is now open to the Commissioners of Public Works to adapt the offices vacated in the main building to meet the requirements of the Garda. A contractor has been engaged to carry out the remaining works and he will start work within the next week.

(Cavan-Monaghan): Deputy Donegan asked the Minister to state what improvements have been made. I do not think the Minister of State gave that information.

I did not hear the Deputy's question.

(Cavan-Monaghan): Arising out of the Minister's reply, as I understand Deputy Donegan's question, he asked the Minister to state what repairs or improvements had been made to the Garda station since the matter was raised and I do not think the Minister gave that information.

We have erected prefavricated buildings and the gardaí have moved into the prefabricated buildings. Now the main building is unoccupied and the contractor is on the site and is ready to start work of the building.
