Vol. 326 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Portevlin (Donegal) Anchorage Facilities.

36.

asked the Minister for Finance whether, in view of the recent tragic loss of three fishermen's lives in the area due to the fact that anchorage facilities at Portevlin, Urris, County Donegal, are inadequate, he will make a statement on the delay in improving this pier.

As stated in answer to a question on 3 June 1980—Official Report, Volume 321, column 1380 — work at Portevlin is expected to commence in 1981. The work will be undertaken as soon as possible during the year.

Could the Minister give any indication as to the part of the year when work will commence?

About the middle of the year, probably June or July of 1981.

The Minister appreciates the importance of it to the area?

I do indeed.

Ceist 37 is for written reply.
