Vol. 326 No. 8

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Dun Laoghaire House Repair.

6.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will state in respect of the appeal by a person (details supplied) in Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin, the current position concerning the determination of his application under section 13 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979, that the corporation should be obliged to undertake a structural repair under the regulations relating to the sale of the existing house scheme of that local authority.

I received a valid application, under section 13 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979, for a determination as to whether or not the house in question was in good structural condition at the time that the ownership was transferred to the purchaser.

Before a determination can be made, an inspection must be carried out by my Department's inspector, who will report on the structural condition of the house. The inspection will be carried out at an early date, and, on receipt of the report, I will make a determination as to what further works, if any, are necessary to put the house into good structural condition.
