Vol. 326 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

191.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a home improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan; the date on which he made application for the grant; the date on which his Department was notified that the work was completed and ready for inspection; the number of occasions on which representations were made on behalf of this person requesting that the grant be paid; and if he will now take steps to have the grant paid.

The information requested by the Deputy is not available as the file is with the Department's inspector. If the inspector reports that work has been satisfactorily completed and is eligible for a grant, payment will be arranged without delay.

192.

asked the Minister for the Environment the date on which the final inspection of reconstruction work which was completed some months ago will take place for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

My Department was awaiting notification from the applicant that work had been completed. In view of the Deputy's statement that it has been completed, an inspection will now be arranged with a view to payment of a grant, if in order.

193.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection will be carried out to work which was completed in February 1980 for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The applicant has not notified my Department that work has been completed. However, in view of the Deputy's statement that it has been completed, an inspection will now be arranged with a view to payment of a grant, if in order.

194.

asked the Minister for the Environment the date on which a final inspection of reconstruction work will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

195.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason three letters requesting payment of a grant for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny were not replied to and the date payment will be made.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of the three letters mentioned by the Deputy. The grant will be paid shortly.

196.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny, which was inspected and passed in December and for which planning permission was sent to his Department during the second week of December.

The necessary evidence of planning permission was received from this applicant on 31 December 1980. A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the work has been satisfactorily completed and is in order for payment. The work was not inspected and approved in December 1980.

197.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan applied for a solid fuel grant and, if so, the date; whether sanction for such a grant has issued; whether his Department has received notification that the work has been completed; whether the work has been inspected; and when the grant will be paid.

An application for a house improvement grant has been received from the person named. The other information requested by the Deputy is not available as the file is with the inspector. If the inspector reports that work has been satisfactorily completed and is eligible for a grant, payment will be arranged without delay.
