The provision of service involves the erection of more than a kilometre of new pole route and the installation of additional equipment at the local exchange. Because of the volume of engineering work requiring attention in the district it is unlikely that this work will be completed for at least a year.

It is expected that service will be provided about the middle of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if his Department have any plans to have telephone kiosks erected at: (i) Castlepark and (ii) Briarhill, Galway.
Kiosks will be provided at both of these centres as soon as suitable sites are selected and the necessary consents obtained.
