Vol. 327 No. 3

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

236.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a person (details supplied) in the South County Dublin area is likely to receive telephone service: and when he first applied.

Service for this applicant, who requested service in August 1979, is dependent on the completion of additional cabling. Because of the volume of engineering work awaiting attention in the district, it is unlikely that this work will be completed before the end of this year.

237.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in the provision of a telephone for a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan who needs it to discharge his duties efficiently.

Provision of service for this applicant involves considerable linework. Because of this and the volume of other engineering work requiring attention in the district, it is unlikely that service will be provided until about a year's time.
