Vol. 327 No. 12

Written Answers. - Meath Taxpayer's Affairs.

302.

asked the Minister for Finance why a tax number and details of the tax free allowance have not been issued to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and when his affairs will be brought up to date.

When the taxpayer commenced his present employment details of his pay and tax from two earlier employments since 6 April 1980 were not known. A provisional certificate of tax free allowances was issued to him on 26 February 1981 to prevent excessive tax deductions. The inspector of taxes has now established the amounts of his pay and tax deductions with his previous employers and a cumulative tax free allowance certificate has been sent to him. Any tax overdeducted for the current year will be refunded to him by his present employer on the operation of this certificate.
