Vol. 327 No. 12

Written Answers. - Pay Adjustments.

362.

asked the Minister for the Environment the percentage pay adjustment applicable to a differential of £12.49 at 30 June 1977 at each change in national agreements to date having regard only to percentage adjustments in national understandings and the accumulative adjustments as at November 1980.

Changes in pay differentials over a period of time may be the consequence of either the application of the standard increases in basic pay rates payable under the terms of national agreements or understandings or of increases granted to particular grades under the special circumstances clauses of such agreements or understandings. It would not, therefore, be appropriate to regard the percentage increases payable under agreements or understandings as being applicable to differentials which were in existence at a particular time.
