Written Answers. - Bord na Móna Workers' Training.

372.

asked the Minister for Labour the amount of aid paid to Bord na Móna from the European Social Fund in each of the past five years for expenditure on the following training and re-training schemes: (a) the training of workers in the use of machinery who were previously employed in agriculture; (b) the re-training of general operatives in the use and development of harvesting machinery; (c) the re-training of general operatives (i) as workshop helpers, (ii) for work in briquette factories and peatmoss factories and (iii) as helpers for driving positions; (d) the re-training of general operatives for junior and senior supervisory positions; and (e) the re-training of personnel for supervisory positions in stores, etc., having regard to the economic and social sections of the National Understandings.

No application has been made by Bord na Móna in the past five years for assistance from the European Social Fund and accordingly no moneys have been paid to that organisation from the fund.
