The person concerned was in receipt of disability benefit from March 1980. Payment was discontinued after 28 February 1981 following examination by a medical referee who was of the opinion that she was capable of work. She has been notified of the decision to disallow her claim from 1 March 1981 and of her right to appeal.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when disability benefit will issue to an applicant (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The person concerned claimed disability benefit from 6 October to 12 October 1980 but she was not entitled to payment as she did not satisfy the contribution conditions for receipt of benefit in respect of this claim.

Inquiries were necessary to determine her insurance record in the 1979-80 contribution year which governed her claim in January 1981. On completion of those inquiries payment was made from 8 January 1981 (fourth day of incapacity) to 10 January 1981, after which date she was fit to resume work.

389.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when disability benefit will issue to an applicant (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The person concerned claimed disability benefit from 21 August 1980 but was not qualified for payment at the time as, according to the records of my Department, he had not the necessary required minimum of 26 contributions paid since his entry into insurance. Following inquiries it has been established that he had sufficient weeks of insurable employment to qualify him for benefit.

Payment has been made of all disability benefit due to 7 February 1981, date of the latest medical certificate received.
