Vol. 328 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Galway Schools.

200.

asked the Minister for Education when the Office of Public Works will seek tenders for the provision of additional accommodation at Saint Colman's national school, Cummer, Tuam, County Galway.

Provided no unforeseen difficulties arise it is expected that the Office of Public Works will be in a position to seek tenders for the provision of additional accommodation at Saint Colman's national school, Cummer, County Galway, in October 1981.

211.

asked the Minister for Education if he has any plans to close Doorus and Northampton national schools and amalgamate them with St. Joseph's national school, Kinvara, County Galway.

I have no firm plans for such an amalgamation. If the proposal were to meet with the wishes of the local interests I would give it favourable consideration.

212.

asked the Minister for Education when additional classroom accommodation, which has been promised for the past two years, will be provided at Oranmore national school, County Galway.

It is proposed to build two additional classrooms and a general-purposes room initially at Oranmore national school and to allow for possible future extension.

I understand from the Commissioners of Public Works that work on the preparation of sketch-plans is at an advanced stage.

It is not possible at this stage of planning to say when building work may commence.
