Vol. 328 No. 2

Written Answers. - Drogheda Old People's Home.

348.

andMr. Donegan asked the Minister for Health when the planning brief for the replacement of the 70 bed old people's home at St. Mary's, Drogheda, County Louth, by a new 100 bed home with day care facilities was submitted to his Department by the North Eastern Health Board; if he has taken a decision on it; and when he expects the facility to be completed.

The planning brief for a new geriatric unit and day care facilities at St. Mary's, Drogheda, was received in my Department on 14 May 1979. The priority accorded to the project by the NorthEastern Health Board was such that it was not possible for me last year or in the current year to provide funds to permit the project to proceed having regard to the overall demands on scarce capital resource. The position will be kept under review.
