Vol. 328 No. 2

Written Answers. - Meath Group Water Schemes.

361.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will list the group water schemes in County Meath for which designs have been submitted and are at present under examination; the date they were submitted; the number of households to be served in each case; and when it is expected a decision will be made.

The following designs for group water schemes in County Meath are at present before my Department:

1. Coole to serve approximately 5 houses, date received, 13-11-1980;

2. Meath Hill to serve approximately 160 houses, date received, 6-9-1980;

3. Kilmainham to serve approximately 74 houses, date received, 17-2-1981.

Meath County Council's request of 5 March 1981 for increased pipe sizes in the Coole group scheme is being examined in my Department. The designs for the Meath Hill and Kilmainham group schemes have been forwarded to the council for their approval. It is not possible at this stage to indicate when Departmental approval will issue.

362.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position in regard to Cullentragh group water scheme, Mountnugent, County Meath.

The position regarding the Cullentragh, Mountnugent, group water scheme, is that grants were allocated to the group in July 1979 in respect of five domestic and three farm connections.

Work never commenced on the scheme, however, and the group informed the Department recently that the scheme is being re-organised to cater for three members only. Thr group have been advised to seek quotations for materials and labour to cater for a smaller scheme and to forward these to my Department as soon as possible. They were also advised to have the design revised accordingly.
