asked the Minister for Energy the total capacity of the tank farm at Whiddy Island oil terminal; and the percentage of that capacity which is being utilised for the purpose of our strategic reserves.

The total storage capacity of the tank farm at the Whiddy Island oil terminal is 7.02 million barrels. Under an agreement with the owners of the terminal, a minimum of one million barrels of oil is held on the State's behalf. This is equivalent to 14 per cent of the total capacity of the terminal.
