Vol. 328 No. 3

Written Answers. - Leaving Certificate Examination.

385.

asked the Minister for Education if he will reschedule the leaving certificate examination this summer in order to avoid a clash between the examination on the history of art and applied mathematics.

In order to keep the time table of the certificate examinations within a reasonable period of time it has always been necessary to list for the same time those examinations in which only a small number of candidates are entered. It would appear that only 11 candidates will take both applied mathematics and the history and appreciation of art in 1981. Special arrangements will be made for each candidate involved to take both papers on the appointed day. It would not be possible to alter the 1981 time table for the purpose of making alternative arrangements.
