asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism the plans the IDA have for the provision of industry at Castletownbere, County Cork.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that they have approved grant assistance for four projects in Castletownbere in the past year which have a combined job potential in excess of 200.

asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism the plans the IDA have for the provision of industry at Skibbereen, County Cork.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that the UK-promoted project, Spiralux, has recently commenced production in the 23,000 sq. ft. advance factory in Skibbereen. It is expected that this project will provide employment for 125 persons at full production.

The IDA are working closely with the Irish Sugar Company in seeking a replacement industry for the Fastnet Co-Operative factory which is due to close shortly. The IDA also own an additional 17 acres of land in the town which they are promoting for industrial development.

asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism the plans the IDA have for the provision of Industry at Drimoleague, County Cork.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that they have no projects under negotiation for Drimoleague at present. However, Drimoleague is well situated to benefit from industrial development taking place in the neighbouring towns of Skibbereen and Bantry.
