Vol. 328 No. 5

Written Answers. - County Dublin Post-Primary Places.

278.

asked the Minister for Education where post-primary places will be available this year for pupils who leave Knocklyon national school, County Dublin; the number of places available in each second-level school concerned; and if there will be sufficient places to cater for all school-leavers from this school in the period between now and the opening of the Knocklyon post-primary school.

The majority of the pupils leaving Knocklyon National School this year have secured places in second-level schools. The remainder can be accommodated in Tallaght Community School and De La Salle College, Churchtown. In this regard it is understood that the principal of Knocklyon Primary School is contacting the principals of those schools.

My Department are satisfied that there will be sufficient second-level school places available for pupils from Knocklyon in the period to the date of the opening of the proposed new school in Knocklyon.
