Vol. 328 No. 6

Written Answers. - Fishery Keepers' Mileage Rate.

431.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if he will give details of the mileage rate paid to fishery keepers employed by the Regional Fishery Board; and if he considers it to be adequate.

Fisheries protection staff employed by the regional fisheries boards are paid the current appropriate civil service mileage rate for the use of their motor cars in carrying out their official duties, as approved.

One board pay a travelling allowance in lieu of the civil service mileage rate for motor cars and a mileage rate for the use of motor cycles is also paid by some boards. I consider these payments to be adequate.
