Vol. 328 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dublin Corporation Housing.

453.

asked the Minister for the Environment the number of new dwellings, houses and flats started and completed from January 1980 to January 1981 by Dublin Corporation in Finglas, Dublin; and the cost to the Exchequer.

In the period from January 1980 to January 1981, Dublin Corporation commenced and completed the following two schemes in Finglas, (a) Cardiffsbridge Road/Cappagh Road (12 houses) and (b) Cappagh Road (six houses).

In addition, the following two schemes which had started prior to January 1980 were completed during the period (a) Johnstown Gardens/Glasanaon Road (30 houses) and (b) Ballygall Road East — St. Clares (46 houses).

The amount drawn from the Local Loans Fund in respect of these schemes in the period January 1980 to December 1980 was £1,861,564. However, these figures do not include the capital amounts spent in that period on these schemes which would be recouped from the Exchequer at a later date or the amount payable in subsidy from the Exchequer in respect of houses completed in 1980. No flats were constructed by the corporation in the area during the period.
