asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of an application for a mobility allowance by a person (details supplied) in Dublin; and if he will give special consideration to this application.

The Eastern Health Board have received an application for a mobility allowance from the person referred to by the Deputy. The board will inform the applicant of the outcome of her application very shortly.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason for the delay in the payment of disability benefit to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

The person concerned claimed disability benefit from 14 May 1980. She was not entitled to payment as she has less than the minimum of 26 contributions paid or credited in the governing contribution years 1978-79 and 1979-80.

The Deputy was already advised to this effect on 13 March 1981.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason for the delay in the payment of disability benefit to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

The person concerned claimed disability benefit from 10 October 1980 and has been paid from 14 October 1980. fourth day of incapacity. Payment issued on receipt of medical evidence to 19 February 1981, when payment was inadvertently stopped. The matter has now been corrected and all benefit due to 2 April 1981 has issued. In addition a cheque in respect of the amount underpaid for the period 14 October 1980 to 19 February 1981 has also been issued.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason for the delay in the payment of disability benefit to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

The person concerned was last insurably employed in the United Kingdom. Under EEC regulations on social security the claim in question is, therefore, the responsibility of the Department of Health and Social Security, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. Accordingly, the claim, together with all relevant papers, have been transferred to that Department.

My Department have contacted the UK authorities with a view to expediting a decision on the claim.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason for the delay in the payment of disability benefit to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

The person concerned claimed disability benefit from 3 January 1981 and has been paid all disability benefit due from 7 January 1981, fourth day of incapacity, to 4 April 1981 at the maximum appropriate rate.

The delay in payment of benefit was due to the fact that he quoted his social insurance number only on medical certificates submitted to my Department in January and February 1981 and it was necessary to return them to him for insertion of his RSI number.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason for the delay in the payment of disability benefit to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

The person concerned claimed disability benefit from 5 March 1981 and has been paid all disability benefit due from that date to 9 April 1981 at the maximum appropriate rate.

The delay in payment of benefit was due to the fact that an incorrect number was quoted on some of the medical certificates submitted in connection with his claim.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange for the early payment of disability benefit to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary.

The person concerned claimed disability benefit from 10 September 1980 and has been paid from 13 September, fourth day of incapacity. All disability benefit and pay-related benefit due to 7 April 1981 has issued.
