Vol. 328 No. 8

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

254.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that a telephone subscriber (details supplied) in County Galway has been consistently overcharged by his Department and that he has been charged for calls he never made; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am not so aware. The subscriber questioned arrears shown in the October-December 1980 account and one operator-assisted trunk call. The arrears in the October-December account were correctly debited, allowance having been made for a payment of £131.93 received in September, 1980 against the sum of £217.46 owed at that time. A further payment of £130.00 received on 22 December was taken into account in the arrears debited to the subscriber in the January-March 1981 account issued on 9 March. Particulars of the trunk call questioned by the subscriber were given to him on 26 Feburary 1981.

256.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a person (details supplied) in County Dublin will have a telephone installed.

It is expected that service will be provided towards the end of this year.

257.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when public telephone kiosks will be erected in Killybegs, County Donegal.

One kiosk is in use in the area. A second one, which was removed to allow of structural alterations to a building where it was located at Conlin Road, will be re-sited within the next few weeks.
