Vol. 328 No. 8

Written Answers. - Agriculture Incomes.

54.

asked the Minister for Finance the level of real incomes per head in agriculture in 1978, 1979 and 1980; and the comparable figures for real income per head in the public sector as defined for budget purposes.

There are no official data available on the level of real incomes per head in the public sector and in agriculture.

It is not possible to make valid per capita comparisons, even in nominal terms, from the available statistics on pay costs in the public sector and incomes arising in agriculture. These statistics are, however, shown for the Deputy's information in a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate in the Official Report.
