Vol. 328 No. 8

Written Answers. - Livestock Marts.

153.

Mrs. Burke

andMr. Donnellan asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will take whatever action is necessary in order to rescue a number of livestock marts that find themselves in serious financial difficulty due to the unfortunate closure of a meat factory at Ballaghadereen, County Roscommon.

While I am aware of the difficulties created for some marts and other interests by the closure of this meat factory, the position is that there are no funds available to my Department which could be used to meet the situation.
