Vol. 328 No. 8

Written Answers. - Health Services Budget Provision.

193.

asked the Minister for Health the increase that was provided for the health services in the 1981 budget over the 1980 level of expenditure; and the proportion of this that will be absorbed by the recent pay award to non-nursing staff.

The 1981 budget non-capital estimate for the Department of Health shows an increase of £57.937 million over the out-turn of the Health Vote for 1980 excluding nonrecurring Vote expenditure in 1980 in the retrospective element of certain pay awards. The 1981 budget estimate does not include provision for any special pay increases sanctioned after 31 December 1980.
