Vol. 328 No. 9

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, 1, 20 and 21. Private Members' Business from 7 to 8.30 p.m. will be item No. 33, resumed, and by agreement item No. 103.

(Cavan-Monaghan): When is it proposed to take the Turf Development Bill, 1980? Because of the failure to take this Bill there is no money available this year for the development of small bogs.

I believe the Whips have yet to discuss this, but the Deputy will appreciate that priority has been given to the Finance Bill. As soon as that is finished, we hope to introduce the Turf Development Bill.

(Cavan-Monaghan): Does the Minister realise that while the central development committee made money available for turf development of small bogs last year, they are not making any money available this year because of the introduction of this Bill? This means the turf industry is worse off this year than it was before the introduction of this Bill.

What the Deputy said was correct a few months ago and the central development committee were taking that view, but my understanding is that that was changed. I will inquire into it.

When is it proposed to publish the report on the Buttevant rail disaster? It was promised last March?

I will let the Deputy know this afternoon.
