asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay in paying a farm modernisation grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

The applicant is classified as a development farmer and is therefore required to keep farm accounts for each year of his plan. Payment of the grant cannot be made until the applicant furnishes evidence that he is complying with this requirement.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry has not been paid a cattle headage grant.

This herdowner declared an off-farm occupation and it was necessary to determine her eligibility to participate in the scheme; this has now been done and payment of the grants will be made within the next fortnight.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry has not been paid a cattle headage grant.

This grant was paid on 27 March.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay in acknowledging the application of a person (details supplied) in County Kerry for a herd grant.

Payment of the 51,000 grants under the EEC scheme of premiums for maintaining suckler cows will commence on 20 May and will extend over a period of two weeks.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay in paying a sheep subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

Payment was delayed in this case because the flockowner omitted to furnish full details of his holding. Payment of the grant will be made shortly.
