Vol. 328 No. 9

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Census Enumerator Posts.

6.

asked the Taoiseach the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny was not successful in his application for the post of temporary part-time enumerator for the census of population, 1981; and why professional people were given these posts when suitable unemployed people were available.

In reply to Questions Nos. 7 and 8 on 7 April I gave a very detailed account of the procedures adopted for the recruitment of enumerators for the 1981 census. The reason why the applicant named by the Deputy was not successful under these procedures was that he was not regarded as qualified by the relevant interview board.
