Vol. 328 No. 13

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefit.

70.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason for the delay in paying social welfare benefit to a person (details supplied) in County Cork who has been ill since 7 September 1980; and if arrangements will now be made for payment.

On 12 January 1981 the person concerned claimed disability benefit. She subsequently stated that her incapacity was due to her employment and submitted medical certificates from 8 September 1980. Pending inquiries as to the nature and origin of the incapacity disability benefit was paid from September 1980 on an interim basis. All disability benefit and pay-related benefit due on this basis has been paid to 4 May 1981.

A decision on her claim under the Occupations Injuries Act will be issued as soon as necessary inquiries have been completed.
