Vol. 328 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Nursing Report.

11.

asked the Minister for Health the number of copies of the Report of the Working Party on General Nursing, 1980 which were printed; and whether this report is now readily available to the general public.

A total of 2,000 copies of the Report of the Working Party on General Nursing, 1980 were printed of which 1,500 were made available to the Government Publications Sale Office for sale to the general public.

The Government Publications Sale Office stock of the publication has been completely sold out. Arrangements have been made available for a reprint of a further 2,000 copies and supplies are expected to be available next month.

Can the Minister say for how long this report was not available, and at what stage arrangements were made to have it reprinted?

I do not have that information on the file. The report is a relatively recent one, it was published in October 1980, as the Deputy is aware.

Would it be unfair to say that the arrangements to reprint the report were made after my question was tabled?

I do not think so but I have no information to indicate that that is the situation.

The Minister does not think that that would be unfair?

I think it might be unfair to suggest that.
