asked the Minister for-Fisheries and Forestry if he will state, in respect of the County Cork coastline: (i) the approximate number of (a) full-time and (b) part-time fishermnen; (ii) the number of drift-net licences issued for salmon fishing; and (iii) the number of registered trawlers.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

The following is the statement:

County Cork Statistics for 1980

Number of full-time fishermen

665

Number of part-time fishermen

537

Number of salmon drift-net licences issued for public fisheries*

166
