Vol. 328 No. 14

Written Answers. - Administrative Tribunals.

163.

asked the Minister for the Environment: (1) the number of administrative tribunals operating within his Department; (2) the number of such tribunals operating in bodies for which he is responsible; (3) the type of each tribunal; (4) the legislation under which each tribunal operates; and (5) the number of appeals to each tribunal and the number upheld in each of the past five years.

As the reply includes a tabular statement I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:

(1), (2) 1* (An Bord Pleanála); (3) The role and procedures of the board are as provided in the Act at (4); (4) Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1976; (5) The numbers of appeals were as follows:

Notes:

*It is assumed that by "administrative tribunal" the Deputy means a body specifically set up under statute to decide appeals.
