asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in dealing with the telephone application of a person (details supplied) in Dublin; and when it is likely that the telephone will be installed.
With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 14 and 15 together. Within the next six months or so.
What is meant by "six months or so?"
Perhaps six months and a day or six months and a week but sometimes service can be provided earlier than anticipated.
That has been known to happen.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in connecting telephones for applicants at Tymon North, Tallaght, County Dublin, a number of whom paid the connection fee in December 1980.
A small number of applicants in this area were not given service in the recent general clearance of telephone applicants in the area because the number of applicants who accepted service exceeded the number of cable pairs available. The necessary additional cabling has now been provided and it is expected that these applications will be met within the next month or so.

A public telephone kiosk will be provided at Clonburris Road, adjacent to Michael Collins Park, as soon as possible after the necessary consents to the site selected have been obtained.

Service is normally provided within three months of the completion of an agreement and it is expected service will be provided for this applicant within that period.
