Vol. 328 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Balbriggan (County Dublin) Pedestrian Crossings.

4.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether he has made a financial allocation to Dublin County Council to enable them to provide a pedestrian crossing on the main Dublin-Belfast road adjacent to Bath Road Estate, Balbriggan, County Dublin.

5.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether he has made a financial allocation to Dublin County Council to enable them to provide a pedestrian crossing on the main Dublin-Belfast road at Dublin St., Balbriggan, County Dublin.

I propose with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle to take Questions Nos. 4 and 5 together.

The Council did not include these works in a list of schemes which they recently submitted to me, to absorb a special grant of £300,000 which I allocated for junction improvements, signalisation, car parks, etc.

It is, of course, open to the council to utilise their own resources for additional works, supplemented by the general block grant amounting to £727,000 which I notified to them for this year.
