Vol. 328 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Finn Valley (County Donegal) Flooding.

26.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware that some 30 acres of the Finn Valley in County Donegal is subject to constant flooding; and whether, in view of the very high rates paid on this land, he will arrange for an abatement of the rates on such lands.

A decision to grant abatement of rates in an individual case is a matter for the local authority. It is understood from the local authority that the land which it is believed the Deputy has in mind forms part of a holding which under the new relief measures announced in the budget is likely to qualify for 50 per cent rates relief in 1981.
