Rent Restrictions (Temporary Provisions) Bill, 1981: Order for Second Stage.
Bill entitled an Act to make temporary provision, in consequence of the decision of the Supreme Court declaring certain provisions of the Rent Restrictions Act, 1960, to be invalid having regard to the provisions of the Constitution, for a measure of protection, in conformity with that decision and with the provisions of the Constitution and, in particular, Article 40.3 and Article 43 thereof, for persons deprived of the protection there-fore provided by that enactment in order to enable legislation to be prepared and to be initiated in, considered and, if thought proper, enacted by the Oireachtas to provide due safeguards for such persons in accordance with the exigencies of the common good.
