Vol. 329 No. 7

Written Answers. - AnCO Trainees.

32.

asked the Minister for Labour (a) the number of people trained by AnCO in 1980; and (b) the percentage of those trained who were under 25 years and who are now in full-time employment.

(a) AnCO trained a total of 15,075 people during 1980.

(b) 74 per cent of the total trained during 1980 were aged 25 years and under. The most recent information available to AnCO about the employment position of these young people shows that 97½ per cent of the 1,744 first year off-the-job apprentices trained by AnCO in 1980 had been placed in employment by 1 May 1981 and that excluding apprentices 64 per cent of the young people trained by it during 1980 were placed in employment on completion of their respective courses.
