I welcome the report of the joint committee as a constructive document and I am pleased to note that RTE share the view.
Many of the observations in the report relate to day-to-day programming and administration in RTE for which I have no statutory function. I understand that RTE are giving these matters serious consideration. My Department are carrying out a detailed examination of the parts of the report which relate to areas in respect of which I have a statutory function and decisions on the recommendations will be made as soon as possible.
