I move:
That, in pursuance of Standing Order No. 105 of the Standing Orders relative to Public Business, the Fire Services Bill, 1981, which had reached Committee Stage prior to the dissolution of the Dáil on 21st May 1981 be restored to the Order Paper.
This Bill passed its Second Stage on 5 May last. The Committee Stage had been ordered but had not commenced before the dissolution of the Dáil. I am putting down a number of amendments and accepting that the Opposition might like to have a little time to consider them. I am anxious to proceed with Committee Stage as soon as possible. Subject to agreement by the Whips I suggest that Committee Stage be ordered for Tuesday, 27 October.
