asked the Minister for Industry and Energy if he will state in view of the recently published census figures the effort that is being made to promote the advance factory at Manorhamilton, County Leitrim.

The Industrial Development Authority have informed me that their vacant 10,000 sq.ft. advance factory in Manorhamilton is being vigorously promoted at present and the IDA are confident that a project will be secured for the factory in the near future. In addition, the Authority are constructing a cluster of three factory units of 3,000 sq. ft. each in the town. These will be actively promoted for suitable small industrial projects.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the efforts that are being made to promote the advance factory in Ballinamore, County Leitrim.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that the 12,000 sq. ft. advance factory in Ballinamore is being vigorously promoted for a suitable industrial project. Ballinamore has been included in a number of recent itineraries by interested parties.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the efforts that are being made to promote an advance factory in Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim.

The Industrial Development Authority have informed me that their vacant 24,000 sq.ft. advance factory completed in June this year is being vigorously promoted for a suitable industrial project. Carrick-on-Shannon has been included in a number of recent itineraries by interested parties.

The IDA are also constructing a 4×3,000 sq. ft. cluster unit for small industry in Carrick-on-Shannon which will be available early in 1982.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the efforts that are being made to promote the advance factory in Dowra, County Cavan.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that they do not have an advance factory in Dowra. The IDA are, however, actively promoting the Dowrosa Limited factory, in co-operation with the receiver, for an alternative project.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy how many advance factories had new industries located in them over the past 12 months; and the number of new jobs that have resulted from these projects.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that 99 new industries commenced production in IDA advance factories throughout the country over the past 12 months. These firms between them employ approximately 1,900 persons at present and have the potential to provide over 10,000 jobs at full production.
