asked the Minister for Social Welfare when disability benefit, including arrears, will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The person concerned claimed occupational injury benefit from 19 February 1981 and was paid at the maximum appropriate rate to 19 August 1981 at which stage he exhausted his title to injury benefit on the expiration of the statutory period of 26 weeks. He then became entitled to disability benefit and has been paid all benefit due to 21 October 1981. In addition he was paid pay-related benefit from 5 March 1981, the 13th day of incapacity.

406.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when disability benefit will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Laois.

The person concerned claimed disability benefit from 21 February 1981 and was certified fit to resume work on 18 May 1981. According to the records of the Department, no insurance contributions were paid in respect of the claimant in the contribution year 1979-80 which governed his entitlement to benefit. Inquiries were necessary and it was established that the claimant had not in fact any contribution in the governing contribution year and he is therefore not entitled to benefit in respect of the claim.
